Democracy and election in Sweden
People in Sweden are strongly involved in all kinds of political movements (Folkrörelser i Sverige). The most important movement of them all are the trade unions. This is a very strong movement. There are a lot of other movements also such as the women's movement, the temperance movement, and -- more recently -- sports movement. Since people in Sweden are so well organized in these political movements they are also very good at participating in the elections. Around 82 percent of the swedish people go and vote every fourth year.
